Today in our English lesson we were talking about picture and text in book on page 59. We were making sentences about picture on page 59. We were doing a dialogue 9 on page 60. On page 60 also we were doing exercise 10a. We were looking a picture for a minute and then we closed the textbook and we were answering the questions gave by the teacher Oroz. For homework we have exercise 8 on page 44.

Today we started the English lesson and we got some mini papers on which were written parts of the sentences. We had to arrange them so that we got the stories of three disasters. Some were looking in textbook and did all right. At the end we all have reviewed by listening to the tape. And we also watched the scenes from natural disasters, and a dubbed scene from Titanic. This English hour was very interesting.

School started at 7.40 in the morning (which is killing me). I had two hours of Art on my timetable and our teacher asked us about Pop Art – Marilyn Monroe, ketchup bottles, giant statues and more. I didn't have breakfast in the morning and I was even more hungry when our teacher told us that we are going to make statues from clay that look like our favourite food. I made a doughnut (it looked like a cloud with crumbles) and my sister Veronika made a pizza, which I accidentally broke into 3 pieces.
Other hours were a bit boring, but I enjoyed English. Last week we had to make an advertisement for an English test. We were very excited, because we knew: our classmates and teachers are going to decide which advertisement is the best and the winner is going to get 3 bonus points at the test. I made mine on paper, but my friends liked my sister's commercial best. She made a PowerPoint presentation. Veronika wants all the users of the English test know: »If you experience headaches, explosive pens, burning tables, or even death, contact your doctor because English tests may not be right for you.«
I also liked the commercials from Anja and Manca. Boys didn't put much effort in it. Some of them forgot about it or made one during the break. Because we didn't have enough grades, Ms Oroz asked some of us a couple of questions. Most of my classmates weren't too happy about it and others made exercises for the test.
And the homework? Exercises in our notebooks and most off all: LEARN!

When the bell rang, we started our English lesson. First, we opened our textbooks on page 41. We read all advertisements on that page and then we discussed them. We told which one was the best in our opinion and which one was the worse Slovenian advertisement for us. Then we solved the exercise 3 a, on page 42. In this exercise, we had to match the slogans with the shown products. When we did that, we checked the correct solutions. After that our teacher opened the internet page “YouTube” and we watched a Slovenian advertisement, which was played on CNN. We watched a few more advertisements, but the bell interrupted us, when rang for the end of our lesson that day.
There was no homework to do. But you just have to study, because the teacher will the next time check our knowledge. So, if you want to get a good grade, start doing it.

Today we started the English lesson with a game from the textbook. We picked two pupils and then they had to go out. They were the suspects. One of us (the detective) asked them some questions. The hard part of it was, that the suspects did not know what the other pupil answered. If they both answered the same, we knew they were not lying, if they didn't answer the same than we knew they were lying. With this funny and interesting game we had some practice in this chapter. The chapter was Tag questions. Here is an example of a tag question: You are hungry, aren't you? or I'm not late, am i?
And here is a joke just to make it a little funnier:
Pupil (on phone) : My son has a bad cold and won't be able to come to school today.
School Secretary: Who is this ?
Pupil: This is my father speaking!

Our English class started at twenty past eleven. First we talked about advertisements (in English, of course!). Most of us thought they are annoying, too long or uninteresting, but some of them are also funny and creative. They can also have a very catchy jingle (song), like the advertisements for Barni, Lekadol plus C, etc.
Then we looked at the advertisements in our books. My favourite was the one for Fruc, which said: »Pofrucaj me nežno«. In English it means: »Fruc me gently.« We did the exercise 3a on page 42 in our books; we had to match slogans of advertisements with the products.
After that our teacher showed us the advertisement for Slovenia, made a couple of years ago. I thought it was very beautiful, it really showed Slovenia's most beautiful places. But my classmates thought something was missing: corn!
Then we watched some really shocking commercials. I think if these advertisements would replace the ones for shoes, cars, clothes and shampoos, the world could be better. We would be shocked, of course, but we would think about their message and they could also make us give up our bad habits and think about their influence.
I think today's English class was very fun and interesting.
Homework: Make an advertisement for the next English test! Remember: the one who makes the best one, will get three bonus points at the test!

OUR MONDAY'S ENGLISH LESSON
(Oskar Sekač 8.b.)
At 12.10 we started our English lesson. For start we gave ourselves food names. I was an apple. The game was going on like that: I said apple calls orange and the orange had to respond as fast as possible. The orange said orange calls cheese and so on. Then teacher gave us little paper sheets. For exercise we had to put this sheets logicaly together. With this exercise we learned new theme Tag questions. In the next 5 minutes we read comic in textbook on side 31. Then we went on with the true and false exercise on side 32. At the end of lesson teacher gave us homework. For homework we had exercises 5a,6a and 7 on sides 32 and 33.
My opinion of this hour: The hour was good because we played games and we didn't get many exercises for homework.

At first we checked our homework, it was in workbook on page 14. Then we listened to the text about a shopping list. We had to draw a picture of food or drink which were in the text.
We had to open our textbooks on page 47. We read the text about earthwatch. It was interesting. At page 46 we looked at the souvenirs. Then our teacher gave us homework in textbook on page 53.
Then our English hour came to the end. At least we had to pull the straw and I picked the shortest straw and now I must write a report about that day.

English lesson
When we came to our classroom this morning, we first opened our workbooks and checked our homework on pages 11 and 12. After that we took our textbooks and did some exercises from pages 18 to 21. It wasn't too hard. On the page 18 there is an exercise which needs to be done with listening to the tape. So, we listened to the tape, matched the conversations to names of the shops and then compared our work with our partners. On the page 20 we also had to listen to the tape and write down the missing prices of the fruits. It wasn’t hard but we had to listen to the tape twice. On the page 21 we had to answer the questions about our shopping habits. It was very fun. We also did two games . First somebody had to listen to our teacher about a shopping list and then he told to another pupil what he remembered. After that we played another game . This time we had write down on the blackboard as many numbers as came up. It was really fun. We didn’t get any homework for today.

Today our English lesson started with a quick request of out teacher. She asked us if we can make a few questions till Monday for some teachers that will visit us for project Comenius. Then we did a quick exercise in our book while listening to the conversation on the radio. It was pretty easy so we all ended quickly. We continued by doing an exercise in our workbooks with a little help of our books. That exercise was also pretty easy. When we were done we checked it. We all did OK at it. The time of this lesson went very fast. At the end the teacher showed us a funny video on YouTube that matched our theme in school – Shopping. In it two men made a sketch about some fruits. Some students didn’t understand it but I found it pretty funny. Then the teacher told us what we have to do for our homework. Some students already did some and some will have to do it at home.

Today we were listening about four kids. They were buying for the picnic. They had a shopping list and when we stopped listening we had to figure out what is missing on a bill. Then we learned in what containers you can buy food (water in a bottle, juice in a carton, crisps in a packet, honey in a jar and bread in a loaf). Then we translated the remember box and answered the questions. We have a lot of homework. We must write down the answers in a book, page 17 and in a workbook pages 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9. I think today´s lesson was fun and instructive.

For the start of this lesson the teacher told us our grades from the first test. It was revision test from last year. There were very strange grades. Some of us were very surprised when they heard their grade.
Then we had to write on our pieces of paper a few words that represent some food. We worked in pairs. One of the pair asked: Have you got e.g. some eggs? And the other answered: Yes, I have\ No I haven't.
After that we got six small pieces of paper. We had to write on each some food. We mixed them and than each of us got another six pieces of paper and we read everything. It was our menu for lunch.
At the end of the hour we circled DA\NE on the page 45 in our books.
In front of those answer was one question. It was asking us if we can do something or not e.g. Znaš poimenovati nekatere trgovine in povedati kaj lahko kupiš v njih. There were 12 questions and we had to write five examples for each.

On Thursday, September 22, we had English on the sixth lesson of that day. We talked about the shopping lists and about countable and uncountable nouns. Two students wrote a test, but the others are going to write it on Friday. When we talked about shopping lists, we answered the questions. We told what Mr. And Mrs. Hughes bought, what they forgot , what they wrote on the shopping list. And countable nouns: we told when we use them and what are the special nouns. We said what is charatheristic of uncountable nouns. Then we had to do exercises in our workbook on page twelve. Exercise was about countable and uncountable nouns. Exercise wasn't very hard, but it was long. We didn't finish this exercise, because we had to select a person, who will describe our school lesson. We selected between: Živa, Veronika, Domen, Martin, Luka, Mateo and me. We raffled like this, that we draw drinking straws. I dragged a good one, but next try I draggen a short one, that means I had to write the report of our school lesson.
